MicroStrategy has grown rapidly in the last few years and is continuing to grow! There have been great features and utilities introduced in the recent years (like Mobile, CLOUD BI, Social BI, Portals, etc) which resulted in huge attention in all aspects. Long story short - technology around BI (or MicroStrategy) has grown faster than anyone could have expected.

In this growing and competitive market, we need to catch up with technology and we believe the best way is "sharing knowledge", in any form - blogs, discussions, etc. To encourage our MicroStrategy community, we have partnered up with BI companies and initiated this program - "Mr. BLOGGER".

Write blogs in myMSTR.com and win an iPad2 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or both

Choice is yours!

What is "Mr.BLOGGER"?
Mr.BLOGGER is a program where participants could win an iPad2 16 GB or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 16GB or BOTH, by just writing 5 blogs on myMSTR.com. We pick two bloggers - "Mr. BLOGGER 1" & "Mr. BLOGGER 2", each one can select either an iPad or a Samsung Galaxy Tab.
How can you be Mr. BLOGGER 1? How can you be Mr. BLOGGER 2?

Simple! If you are a blogger on myMSTR.com with at least 5 blogs published, you are eligible for a lucky draw. One blogger will be picked from the eligible bloggers and he/she will be awarded an iPad2 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Remember, the lucky draw is NOT among 1000's, NOT even 100's, as MicroStrategy blogger community is not that big yet. So if you are eligible for the draw, chances of winning are really HIGH.

Even simpler! We will work on sharing your blogs in our social pages (you can do it yourself too). The blog which gets some social attention (FB likes, comments on LinkedIn/Twitter) will be eligible for lucky draw again and the blogger will be rewarded as "Mr. BLOGGER 2".

And again, you have a chance to pick between iPad2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Compatibility Issue (older Desktop clients against 921m I-Server)

MicroStrategy has been growing rapidly in the last few years and it’s easy to get carried away with the new versions & all these new features & overlooking how our environments are setup & the impact it might cause if not setup correctly.

Intelligence Server Engines and Query Flow

I would like to blog about various MicroStrategy engines available in I-Server. There are about 14 I-Server engines, each one is described below:

• Security Engine – manages user authentication and authorization
• Object Browsing Engine – presents the folder navigation of the BI applications
• Prompting Engine – manages the presentation and resolution of prompts
• Resolution Engine – interprets business definitions for efficient execution
• Command Engine – manages all engine capacities and job queues.

MicroStrategy Access and Privilege Control by Project

From the time I last blogged and today, I have seen excellent growth in the number of MicroStrategy implementations. Many enterprises (regardless of size) have started using MicroStrategy for Business Intelligence practice. I have helped few teams to get started with MicroStrategy. One most common questions most clients had was around project security.

I would like to describe a MicroStrategy Access & Privilege Control Model which might work for most clients. The goal is to address the following:

Intelligent Cubes in MicroStrategy 9.x

Intelligent Cubes provide access to a single set of data that can be shared among multiple reports and analyzed with OLAP Services, while reducing access to the data warehouse.
